Stefano Bombardieri

Stefano Bombardieri was born in Brescia, Italy, in 1968. The son of a sculptor, it was in his father Remo Bombardieri’s workshop that he refined his knowledge of art through experimentation and the use of different techniques and materials. As defined by himself, Stefano Bombardieri’s style is minimalist but also conceptual: rhinos, elephants, whales, and crocodiles are the protagonists of the works of which the artist takes care of every detail, accomplishing an overcoming of the realistic dimension and entering the surreal one. Since the 1990s he has been working between Italy and the rest of the world, exhibiting in both galleries and public spaces in major solo and group exhibitions. Famous are his large-scale works installed in urban spaces. Participated in the 52nd and 54th Venice Biennale in 2007 and 2011. In 2013 he joined “The Italian Wave” group, which took him and exhibited in Turkey, Greece, Romania and Lithuania.
