A project that from Friday, October 6, will compare the works of some of the leading figures in the art scene of the last fifty years. Gino De Dominicis, Aldo Mondino, Sandro Chia, Stefano Di Stasio, Gianni Dessì, and Piero Pizzi Cannella are among the artists who, between the 1970s and 1980s, brought the medium of painting back to the center of the art system, thus restoring a tangible body to creative intention-after the years of conceptual “dematerialization.” They made an excavation in the geological layers of the arts, recovering fragments to be inscribed within a new aesthetic project. Questioning the theme of origin, they set fire to the dust of symbol, legend, and myth. While each pursued a personal poetic bent, they all arrived at an expressive language capable, again, of burning and evoking; of engaging the senses as much as at least thought. Large-format works are presented by these artists, all accompanied by an important exhibition history.
